“Who hath blessed us” Ephesians 1:3
“Know this: all of God’s people are blessed of God. You may be poor, you may have no material possessions to call your own, you may be sickly, in constant bodily pain and ready to die, but if you are in Christ, if you are a child of God, you are blessed, blessed of God with all spiritual blessings in Christ Jesus.
When upon life’s billows you are tempest tossed,
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost.
Count your many blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord has done.
Children of God, we are blessed!
We are blessed according to the purpose of God. ‘God hath saved us and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began’ (2 Timothy 1:9). ‘Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus’ (Ehesians 1:3).
All the blessings of God’s grace and glory, for time and eternity, were freely given to all believers by God’s eternal electing love: ‘According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him: in love having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will’ (Ephesians 1:4 - 5). God in his eternal purpose gave us and guaranteed the accomplishment of all these blessings in his people: adoption, justification, acceptance, redemption, forgiveness, regeneration and all the fulness of eternal glory. Do you see how blessed you are? What more could anyone desire? And all of this God has done for us ‘to the praise of the glory of his grace’ (Ephesians 1:6).”

A MATTER OF THE HEART
When our Lord Jesus called his disciples unto him, in the book of Mark, (12:43), he declared this poor widow to have given more than all the others who had given to the temple treasury, how can that be? She only had a little money, two mites which make a farthing. To most who had entered and gave, that would have been pocket change at the most! But you see, it was all-knowing, all-seeing, God in the flesh who was sitting there watching these people come and go. He saw beyond the outward appearance of those who gave to the coffer. He saw their hearts for what was truly in them. But does not the Scripture’s declare, The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? (Jer. 17:9). So, what did the Lord Jesus see in the heart of this poor widow, that He did not see in the rest? For by grace are ye saved through “FAITH”; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God (Eph. 2:8). He saw her “FAITH”, her “TRUST”, He saw the good and perfect gift, that God had given her, being put to the test! And accomplished! Verse 43 of Mark 12 our Lord say’s, For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living. She completely trusted God, with all her heart, to accomplish what He said he would accomplish! You see folks, it’s not what you give, it’s not the works that you do! It’s what is in your Heart that matters! Are you trusting in the flesh? When the Lord Gives a new Heart to one of His elect, we no longer put our trust, in our flesh, we see it for what it is, weak and corrupt, we see the only true and sure One we can trust in, Christ the Lord! “For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh” (Php_3:3).

WE PREACH CHRIST CRUCIFIED
“For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: But we preach Christ crucified” (I Cor. 1:22-23).
“It is the same today – men want clever preachers, not Christ preachers; reason, not revelation; their minds challenged, not their hearts pricked. The wisdom of this world says, ‘If you wish to reach the people of this day; you must not be dogmatic; share, discuss, exchange ideas, counsel people, but don’t preach!’ I hear people say, ‘If you would enlist today’s youth, you must adapt to their life-style and their language; pick up the rock beat, use comedy, puppets, and social entertainment; don’t preach Christ to them!’
Can you imagine the Apostle Paul compromising with this so-called ‘wisdom of the world?’ NO! His reply to what men require and seek is ‘We preach Christ and Him crucified.’ I desire to preach and minister to young and old, wise and unwise, but not at the expense of God’s glory and truth. ‘It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe’ (I Cor.1:21); and if depravity offends men’s dignity, revelation offends their wisdom, and substitution offends their pride, so be it!
I find God’s prophets, apostles, and preachers, who have been used of God in past years, to be compassionate men but never compromisers, to be comforters but never cowards. They were willing to take the offense out of their manners but never out of their message. They all PREACHED CHRIST AND HIM CRUCIFIED.”

Who is your God?
“A god who does not have to perform all the work in salvation is a man-made god made to make man god. The man who esteems himself as only partly helpless always worships a god who partly saves. So long as the natural heart is that god, a man has not the necessary revelation to begin to comprehend the divine attributes which his god lacks.
The glory of God is holiness. He is complete. He does not need man. Man adds nothing to his glory, nor can man diminish his glory. God is the beginning. All things are made by him and for him. Holy God is satisfied with nothing but what he creates in perfect holiness. Therefore God alone puts away a man's sin; God alone creates new life in a man; God alone defends and shields a man; God alone ordains and strengthens a man to perform the works he has foreordained; God alone draws the spirit of a man out of his dead flesh; God alone creates glorified flesh after the grave so that the body and spirit of a man are perfected in righteous to live eternally with the righteous God.
A god who in part depends upon man is no greater than the man who created him. Only when we begin to behold the God who purposed and successfully reveals his glory through the fall and salvation of creatures opposed to him have, we truly begun to behold the preeminent Wisdom who is the great I AM.

Blessed is the fact that Christians can rejoice even in the deepest distress; although trouble may surround them, they still sing; and, like many birds, they sing best in their cages. The waves may roll over them, but their souls soon rise to the surface and see the light of God’s countenance; they have a buoyancy about them which keeps their head always above the water, and helps them to sing amid the tempest, ‘God is with me still.’ To whom shall the glory be given? Oh! to Jesus—it is all by Jesus. Trouble does not necessarily bring consolation with it to the believer, but the presence of the Son of God in the fiery furnace with him fills his heart with joy. He is sick and suffering, but Jesus visits him and makes his bed for him. He is dying, and the cold chilly waters of Jordan are gathering about him up to the neck, but Jesus puts His arms around him, and cries, ‘Fear not, beloved; to die is to be blessed; the waters of death have their fountain-head in heaven; they are not bitter, they are sweet as nectar, for they flow from the throne of God.’ As the departing saint wades through the stream, and the billows gather around him, and heart and flesh fail him, the same voice sounds in his ears, ‘Fear not; I am with thee; be not dismayed; I am thy God.’
As he nears the borders of the infinite unknown, and is almost affrighted to enter the realm of shades, Jesus says, ‘Fear not, it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.’ Thus strengthened and consoled, the believer is not afraid to die; nay, he is even willing to depart, for since he has seen Jesus as the morning star, he longs to gaze upon Him as the sun in his strength. Truly, the presence of Jesus is all the heaven we desire. He is at once
